The purpose of traveling to Africa was to do a year of service in Karonga, Malawi, Africa. With being a photographer at heart and by trade, when I was not teaching, I often took walks around the surrounding area where we lived. During the holidays and when school was not in session, I traveled to neighboring countries of Malawi: Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, with the exception of Kenya, Egypt and South Africa.
Over these past 5 months, I have been sorting and reliving the memories pachako, pachako (“little by little” in one of Malawi’s many vernacular languages). At times I feel the memories are starting to fade but also feel with so many images I want to share them with others. So little by little, pachako pachako, I am going to be posting images from Africa assisted with a story to keep the memories alive and refresh while at the same time, sharing them with anyone who is interested in listening. Comments are more then welcome and are encouraged to spark more details of stories to add on or include.
As these images and stories are being put together, I am also going to have a link on the blog page which will lead you too a web gallery of other images from Africa.
Enjoy the Journey. Tiwonanenge!
